REQUIRED:

Has a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Required

Has three or more years of experience in EVS Management. Required

Obtain OSHA 10-hour certification within 90 days of hire and retake course every 2 years, if applicable. Required

Has current and valid Fingerprint clearance card or apply for one within 20 days of hire. We can assist you with this. Required

Referral Bonus Available / $600 per referral, no limit / $150 upon referral hire and every 90 days the staff member and applicant are employed with the final payout on the 1 year anniversary date of the applicant.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, plans, organizes, directs the daily activities of the Environmental Services Department while ensuring the highest standards of quality, service, and cleanliness to Royal Oaks residents, guests and employees.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Staffing: Hires, trains, develops work schedules, approves payroll and disciplines staff while maintaining the established guidelines for service standards for the Environmental Services Department.

Develops and maintains a high level of staff morale, a low turnover rate and staff member motivation through regular recurring meetings and a consistently firm but fair system of discipline.

Timely completes staff member performance evaluations providing written detailed feedback. Meets with individual staff to discuss the review and any change in pay. In addition, develops measurable and agreed up goals with staff for the next review period. These goals are added in ADP in advance of the next review period.

Training, quality control and in-servicing staff is an essential part of the Manager’s responsibility. It includes inspections and touring the buildings several times per day with staff to assess work quality. Findings are documented, copied to the Facilities Director.

Meet no less than quarterly with each department manager to discuss EVS performance and define deficiencies. The discussion is documented for the department managers, shared with the Facilities Director, including a task list with defined timelines for correction.

Semi-annually meet with vendors and review performance of services. Document the discussion and share with the Facilities Director.

Annually review SLA’s (service level agreements) and pricing with vendors in advance of creating the new fiscal year budget. Initiates or assists in proposal development and contract negotiations. Obtain new contract approval from the Facilities Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Create and manage the department operating and capital budgets with the assistance of the Facilities Director. Responsible to operate and manage projects and purchases within budget. Approve and properly code invoices timely according to accounting procedures.

Maintain the department in an ‘inspection ready’ state at all times, assuring the department operates within required health regulations and standards as well as within federal, state and local regulations. Safety and sanitation is a high priority for all residents, staff and guests.

Create, update and review annually the department’s policies, procedures and educational in-services for staff. Review these policies, procedures and train the housekeepers, custodians, and laundry employees on the proper cleaning methods, resident needs and infection control.

Maintains excellent relations with residents, guests, co-workers, and staff members. Promotes the professional growth and development of the EVS team.

Implements changes to services provided that enhances the desirability of the community for current and future residents. Ensures the competency in the position is maintained by participating in training and development programs as directed.

Provides leadership, support, coordination and guidance to ensure that quality standards, inventory levels, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.

Attends and participates in management training activities, seminars, and meetings.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge and Skills:

Has in depth knowledge and ability to use all department equipment, safe mixing of chemicals, commercial laundry operations control and floor care programs.

Has in-depth knowledge of all aspects of housekeeping and laundry sanitation services.

Experienced in understanding and implementing infection control procedures.

Has ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures.

Experienced and skilled in negotiating contracts and pricing.

Has computer proficiency Microsoft Word/Excel, Outlook, Internet.

Is organized, able to multi-task, think creatively and adapt to different situations.

Education and Experience:

Has a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Required

Has three or more years of experience in EVS Management. Required

Communication Skills:

Demonstrates excellent telephone and customer service etiquette.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Is able to supervise 40+ employees.
