About Us:

Repwest Insurance, a subsidiary of U-Haul Holding Company, provides specialized insurance products and services. We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong background in insurance, regulatory compliance, and accounts payable. This role is essential for ensuring the company’s adherence to industry regulations and maintaining efficient payment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

-Oversee and manage the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments.

-Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements specific to the insurance industry, including the preparation of regulatory filings.

-Monitor internal processes to ensure alignment with regulatory guidelines and company policies.

-Maintain and enhance internal controls related to accounts payable and regulatory compliance.

-Work closely with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and examinations.

-Assist with the implementation of process improvements to optimize accounts payable workflows.

-Provide mentorship and support to junior staff in the accounting department.

-Collaborate with the compliance team to stay current on evolving regulatory standards and ensure company-wide adherence.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

-3+ years of accounting experience, experience in P&C Insurance and Regulatory Compliance a plus.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

-Knowledge of GAAP and STAT (statutory) accounting.

-Experience using SAP ECC ERP and/or SAP S/4 Hana is a plus.

-Strong oral and written communication skills, good listening skills, and excellent attention to detail.

-Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work well under pressure.

-Ability to meet tight deadlines while working independently and as a strong team player.

-Attention to detail, organized and thorough, with a desire for continuous improvement.
