Lusardi Construction Company is a full-service General Contractor established in 1958. We are looking for an experienced Journeyman Laborer with a strong familiarity with working on large commercial construction jobsites. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and proven ability to perform manual labor and other physical tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Cleaning and preparing construction sites
Loading and unloading materials and equipment
Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures
Digging trenches, compacting earth and backfilling holes
Perform repetitive hand, arm, and finger motions
Handle, grasp, and move construction materials, including rebar, wood, and braces
Handle, utilize and operate machines or equipment, including, but not limited to: small hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, etc.) and power tools, jackhammer, drill, chipping gun, skip loader, rough terrain forklift, aerial lift, scissor lift, compressor, generator (training and/or certification may be required prior to use)
Assisting Carpenters and Superintendents as needed
Required Skills/Abilities:
Stand and/or walk for a full 8 hours
Perform work from a standing, kneeling, and/or squatting position
Climb and/or reach
Sit for brief periods of time
Push, pull, lift and carry heavy objects, including braces and objects up to 100 lbs
Visually identify surroundings and potential hazards
Maintain balance
Listen to, hear, and understand verbal directions
Verbally communicate
Work as a member of a team
Understand safety instructions
Read and understand written directions
Make basic written marks
Measure materials and other distances
Work outdoors, around dust, in the sun, and in various weather conditions, including hot/cold conditions
Work at various heights, above ground level
Education and Experience:
6-8 years of commercial construction experience required
HS Diploma, GED, and/or Apprenticeship Training preferred
