Middle Fork Logistics is a growing, family-owned trucking company looking for an experienced full-time Fleet Mechanic and welder/fabricator familiar with heavy duty diesels. This position offers regular business hours M-F, with occasional overtime and weekend availability a plus. Pay commensurate with experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform regular maintenance checks, routine maintenance, and preventive maintenance on trucks, machinery, and equipment.
Identify, repair, and replace malfunctioning components to ensure equipment is working at full capacity.
Keep accurate written and digital records on repairs and modifications made on equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Fit and Fabricate metal components to assemble, repair, and construct various components or structures as necessary.
Maintains a clean and safe work area; Performs duties in a safe manner; maintains awareness of others in work area.
SKILLS:
Ability to speak and write English in order to keep accurate records.
Basic comprehension or computer systems.
Ability to work in both a team and independent setting.
Strong analytical skills in order to identify problems audibly, visually, or with a computer.
Ability to work with welding and fabrication equipment.
Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
EDUCATION:
Experience in Welding/Fabrication with proper certifications.
High school diploma, GED, or other equivalent.
Technical degree in mechanics or related field preferred but not required.
Proven experience as a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic.
Valid driver’s license.
(Optional) Familiarity with Cummins
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Most work will be done in a well-ventilated workshop; however, service calls may require work in various environments both inside and outside. This includes all weather conditions.
Full range of upper and lower body is required.
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, stretching, and occasional sitting.
Must supply personal mechanical tools and storage.
