Job Summary
Spruce Tree Montessori School is accepting resumes for the position of School Chef and Educational Assistant. Duties include planning, preparing, and serving hot lunch (approximately 30 servings) each school day. Provide sound educational leadership and guidance to students in the kitchen and classrooms where assigned; apply the Montessori philosophy to preparation and planning to the best of your ability. Plan daily snack and lunch menus, purchase ingredients and make, bake, and/or prepare daily hot lunch, managing the storage and waste of food. Manage the school kitchen, including organization and daily cleaning. Report on the status of the lunch program, propose suggestions, and think critically about efficiency and budget of the program. Serve as an educational assistant; mentor/tutor/guide students, assist with making materials, planning activities, organizing supplies, and cleaning up after activities.
