Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a Project Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting various construction projects by performing essential tasks and maintaining a safe work environment. The Project Specialist will work under the supervision of the Project Foreman to assist in various construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed successfully and on time. This role requires physical strength, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical skills and a keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with project team members, sub-contractors, and supervisors to support the execution of various construction projects, which may include renovations, installations, upgrades, or reconfigurations. Assist in project planning, coordination, and implementation to ensure successful project completion within established timelines.

- Travel to different project sites, both locally and regionally, as required by the company. Overnight stays away from home may be necessary.

- Participate in demolition activities, including the removal of existing structures and materials as required.

- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring they are properly organized and stored.

- Ladder trained and capable of safely ascending and descending ladders to perform tasks at various heights.

- Assist in framing and assembling structural components, including walls, roofs, and floors.

- Measure, cut, and install drywall panels and other wallboard materials according to project specifications.

- Apply joint compound and tape to seams and joints to create a smooth, seamless finish. Perform repairs and patchwork on damaged or irregular surfaces as needed.

- Apply paint, stain, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring that projects are completed with precision and attention to detail.

- Installation of a variety of flooring materials, including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, carpet, tile, and more.

- Installation of kitchen/bathroom cabinets, countertops, fixtures, and other components.

- Installation of plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.

- Installation of electrical systems including minor wiring, outlets, and fixtures.

- Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, and compactors.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning tools and equipment at the end of each workday.

- Troubleshoot and Diagnose Issues: Investigate and diagnose equipment malfunctions and system failures, using a combination of technical knowledge, diagnostic tools, and problem-solving skills. Recommend and implement effective solutions to resolve issues and prevent future occurrences.

- Ensure Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Identify and mitigate potential hazards or risks during maintenance activities and project execution. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

- Accurately track work time, job materials and input into Company’s database.

- Provide clear and concise updates on progress, challenges, and recommendations to supervisor and project team.

Qualifications and Skills:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training is preferred.

- Active driver’s license.

- Previous construction experience is a plus.

- Physical strength and stamina to perform physically demanding tasks.

- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

- Familiarity with construction tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments.

- Proficiency in technology, use of smart phone, laptop, familiar with general computer applications such as Word, Excel, web-based browsers.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced construction professionals.

- Flexibility to travel frequently, adapt to different work environments, work on-call, overtime, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Experience level: 1 year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

- Day shift

- Monday to Friday

- On call

- Overtime

- Weekends as needed
