The successful applicant needs:
· organizational, telephone, and other general office skills
· knowledge of computer word processing, database, and spreadsheet skills. Willingness to learn digital platforms.
· positive outlook, and be able to manage job and personal stress in an occasionally fast-paced, stressful office environment
· initiative in determining job responsibilities and priorities
· understand and respect the confidential nature of school communications and activities, particularly related to students and/or personnel
· dependable, punctual, honest, and productive
· open to advice and supervision, and willing to learn new skills
· actively work to become a key person in a small district “team” and demonstrate ability to foster cooperative relationships with site administrator, school staff, students, and parents
· previous clerical experience preferred
· knowledge or willingness to learn about homeschooling in Alaska
· attention to detail is a must
Duties: Examples of position duties include:
· maintaining student records and ensuring the accuracy of the same
· answering the telephone, taking messages, setting up appointments
· welcoming parents and students to the PEAK office
· preparing mass mailings, ability to compose all forms of correspondence and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
· checking invoices and reimbursement requests for errors, creating purchase orders
· entering reimbursements and requisitions into the Student Information System
· entering and maintaining student inventory lists
· electronic filing and cross database management
· vacuuming, dusting, mopping office spaces
· bathroom cleaning and stocking
· emptying trash
· other duties as assigned
