Banquet Manager

Summary of Position:

This position is responsible for all floor activities and functions for the banquet department. The Banquet Manager is also responsible for supervising, scheduling, and monitoring the performance of the banquet staff. Responsibilities also include providing professional assistance to client and staff during functions in the hotel and ensure conformance with Hotel Captain Cook standards.

Essential Functions:

Coordinate with Catering Department to determine and clarify client requirements, and passes on information to Banquet Table Attendants, Bartenders, and Banquet Equipment Coordinators

Ensures that the banquet spaces are set up in a satisfactory manner, and that needed AV equipment is in place and operational

Inspects each banquet space daily

Coordinates with client to confirm details of their event

Completes monthly banquet bar inventory

Assists in banquet bar set-up requirements

Knowledge of Clover P.O.S. System

Responsible for training associates and verifies that service is performed in accordance with established hotel standards

Complete silverware, plateware, and chafing dish requisitions for each event

Maintains an inventory of banquet plates, glassware, silverware, and linen

Supervise and coordinate event activities with all banquet staff

Coordinates across departments

Serve and manage banquet event in a professional manner

Work with Catering Management to accomplish goals and meet service deadlines

Work with and direct staff during set up, service, and breakdown of each event

Schedule appropriate staffing levels based needs of the hotel

Review payroll daily

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education:

No specific educational background is required; however, high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Prior experience working as a banquet server/table attendant is required. Prior experience working with tray and/or cocktail service, and alcohol management certification is required of the position.

Skills/Abilities:

Individual should be courteous, friendly and project a professional appearance and attitude always. The ability to work well with others and desire to serve people are essential functions of the position. Individual must have integrity, honesty, and a cooperative attitude towards job and personnel.
