Reports To: Medical Director / Program Director

Pay: $35–$45/hr

POSITION OVERVIEW

Bethesda Opioid Treatment Program is seeking an empathetic and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinician to join our multidisciplinary care team.

The Clinician will provide individual and group psychotherapy, clinical assessments, care planning, and therapeutic support for patients engaged in medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder. This role requires a deep understanding of substance use, trauma-informed care, and cultural competence, especially when working with Alaska Native and other underserved populations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Services:

Provide individual, group, and family therapy to patients enrolled in MAT, using evidence- based practices.

Complete initial biopsychosocial assessments and periodic reassessments.

Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the patient and care team.

Facilitate psychoeducational groups focused on recovery, relapse prevention, coping strategies, and wellness.

Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed to support recovery goals. Coordinate with medical, psychiatric, and peer support staff to ensure integrated, holistic care.

Case Management & Advocacy:

Help patients connect with external resources such as housing, employment, medical care, and legal support.

Act as a liaison between patients and community partners when needed.

Advocate for patients’ needs while fostering self-empowerment and accountability.

Compliance & Documentation:

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.

Ensure all clinical documentation meets OTP, state, and federal regulatory standards. Participate in regular case reviews, team meetings, and training.

Current and active LCSW/LPC/LMFT license in the State of Alaska

At least 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in substance use treatment or behavioral health.

Experience with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is a strong plus.

Knowledge of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and culturally responsive therapy. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency with EHR systems and documentation standards.

Must pass a background check and meet all OTP staffing requirements.

Familiarity with local community resources and systems of care.

Experience working with Alaska Native populations or other marginalized communities. Comfortable facilitating groups and delivering patient education.
