POSITION OVERVIEW
Join our team dedicated to providing culturally responsive addiction treatment services to communities in Anchorage. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Chemical Dependency Counselor to provide assessment, counseling, and case management for clients in our Opioid Treatment Program. This role integrates a holistic treatment model that honors traditional healing practices alongside evidence-based approaches to support clients on their recovery journey.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct patient intakes and welcome clients to the clinic.
Provide education and support to clients and their families about substance use disorders and recovery strategies.
Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and ongoing professional development to enhance service delivery.
Alaska CDCII certification or eligibility (CDCI with an advancement plan will be considered).
Experience working with Alaska Native populations is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of substance use disorders, particularly opioid addiction, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
Understanding and application of trauma-informed care principles.
Familiarity with Alaska Native cultural practices, healing traditions, and the ability to integrate these into treatment.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
