Activity Specialist – Full-Time Position Available

Willowcreek Adult Day Center DBA Willowcreek AK Transport, is excited to announce that we are hiring! Our center specializes in providing enriching recreational and therapeutic activities for senior citizens and adults with physical or mental disabilities.

We are currently seeking an Activity Specialist to join our dedicated team. This position requires a blend of driving and caregiving skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Safely transport and escort clients between their residences and the Activity Center using our company-supplied van.

2. Collaborate with team members to escort small groups of clients to various community venues, including parks, shopping centers, museums, and bowling alleys.

3. Serve snacks, meals, and beverages to clients.

4. Operate the company-supplied van safely.

5. Facilitate and engage clients in educational and therapeutic activities, including physical exercises, board games, memory stimulation exercises, music therapy.

6. Assist in coordinating social activities to ensure positive daily interactions with clients.

Basic Requirements:

The Activity Specialist will work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently after completing training. Candidates must be able to possess the strength, balance, and agility needed to navigate the day center environment (including stairs, accessible vans, ADA-compliant bathrooms, etc.) and external locations.

For insurance purposes, candidates must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of 5 years of driving experience.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to devise creative solutions to challenges.
