Full charge bookkeeper and payroll assistant needed for small accounting office.
We have many different clients and your duties are changing all the time. Every client expects something different so this is not a job that you will be doing the same thing over and over. You have to be able to change how you enter data differently for each client.
It is important that this person:
Has accounting knowledge and skills;
2 years QuickBooks Desktop and Online knowledge;
2 years payroll experience;
Asks questions when needed to perform a task(s) correctly:
Be able to research and make decisions when needed;
Is flexible and can adapt to change when needed;
Willing to learn new tasks;
Reliable and responsible.
As an accounting assistant you will mostly be working in QuickBooks Desktop however, we do work in QuickBooks Online also. Some of the tasks you will be responsible for are reconciling credit card statements, maintaining the balances of these accounts, preparing payroll, certified payroll, tax deposits, and preparing accounts payable checks to vendors.
Quality work, prioritizing work assignments, confidentiality, and meeting deadlines is critical in this position. You will also be responsible for filing.
There will be some receptionist duties required as well. You will be the back up to the front desk by answering phones and helping clients as they walk in.
Must be able to work accurately, multi-task, pay close attention to detail, organized and self motivated. QuickBooks and Payroll experience is a must.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Benefits: PTO after first year. I do not offer health or retirement, but I will work with you on a flexible schedule between 8am - 5:30pm M-F.
Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday through Friday
Education: Preferred Associate degree in accounting
