About the Position: This position serves as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist for the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command. This position will be filled as a temporary appointment. Responsibilities Perform the full range of supervisory functions while planning and carrying out program and procedural development and administrative functions. Serve as a senior advisor providing interpretive technical advisory services and analysis of regulations, rules and policies. Establish and maintain liaison with foreign government personnel involved in the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command (USASAC) program. Provide new approaches, new program emphasis, and new or improved guidance after studying operations, administrative decisions and questions emanating from the field. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical advice on total package fielding of equipment, training, and other services related to the foreign military sales program; carrying out procedural development and administrative functions; direct staff in performing logistics management and foreign military sales functions; advise, counsel, and instruct employees on work to be performed; and identify developmental training needs of subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Manpower & Personnel Planning and Evaluating Strategic Thinking Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Temporary Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a temporary appointment NTE one year. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three (3) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a temporary appointment will be appointed/converted into a temporary appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
