Three years of experience in higher education, financial services, or a related field. Experience in an environment dealing with financial literacy education, financial counseling, and giving presentations preferred. Experience developing and implementing programs, activities, promotions, or special events in higher education desired. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties: Coordinates, maintains, and supervises the Student Money Management ( SMM ) peer counseling program. Facilitates the implementation of programming and other activities within the SMMC .Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only): Coordinates, maintains, and supervises the Student Money Management ( SMM ) peer counseling program. Conducts and coordinates presentations, workshops and seminars on personal finance topics for the university community. Conducts professional personal finance counseling sessions with Sam Houston State University ( SHSU ) students. Conducts and coordinates trainings, workshops, and meetings involving the SMM . Develops and coordinates services, programs, policies and procedures, promotions, scheduling of special events, and online outreach efforts for SMM . Coordinates and schedules educational outreach programs. Develops marketing plans for SMM’s services. Serves as department representative for internal and external meetings and presentations. Aids with drafting grant proposals for special funding. Assists the Associate Director of Student Money Management with the assessment of the center’s educational efforts. Assists with hiring student employees and graduate assistants. Performs other related duties as assigned.
