We are seeking a Lead, Software Engineer to represent Aerojet Rocketdyne/L3Harris as the prime contact on assigned projects. The Lead Engineer will interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordinative activity across organizational lines. Responsible for design/architecture, development, and support of Operational Technology (OT) digital solutions with a focus on Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0. Under very general direction, independently determines approach to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices. Preferred locations would be Melbourne, FL OR Huntsville, AL. Any other segment locations or remote work could be considered. Essential Functions:

Lead the architectural design of OT solutions to align with digital transformation strategy and technology roadmap for the segment.

Perform required analysis, feasibility and design studies of existing IT OT data to assess digital transformation readiness.

Lead trade studies and tech assessments to drive common digital solutions for the segment.

Identify technology gaps and develop mitigation strategy to address such gaps including but not limited to; new hardware software and changes to existing processes.

Responsible for generating requirements and specifications for hardware and software in support of Industry 4.0 and IIOT applications.

Act as a liaison between application users, software developers and system analysts.

Provides ongoing sustainment for assigned application including user support and training as required.

Provides guidance and direction to lower level analysts.

May test and troubleshoot program code in order to identify and correct program errors.

May review and approve the work of lower level analysts.

May make assignments, provide direction to lower employees and support personnel.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applicable technical degree

10 years directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Active Secrete Clearance or ability to achieve one

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience in the architectural design and integration of SoS (system of systems)

Extensive knowledge of Extraction Transform Load (ETL) process

Experience architecting and developing in the Inductive Automation IGNITION Suite of Products

Strong knowledge in OT technologies and systems integration including MES, SCADA (Ignition), Equipment Controllers (PLC), IIoT, Purdue Reference Model and relevant technologies

Extended experience in the integration of manufacturing and business systems

Experience leading day-to-day project activities across multidisciplinary teams

Strong communication skills to be able to work with clients at all levels of the organization – from the shop floor to the board room

General knowledge of computer equipment capabilities and applications.

Knowledge of system analysis/design techniques and database design principles.

Extended knowledge of applicable programming languages, industrial communication standards, principles and practices.

Knowledge of advanced analytics and data sciences is a plus.

Knowledge of the functional area of responsibility.

Ability to operate effectively in a team environment.

Functional knowledge of discreet manufacturing and/or process manufacturing operations a plus.

Lean Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement experience and/or certification is a plus.
