Masters degree preferred. Five years of experience in program development and/or project management in higher education or in a related field. Experience in a state institution of higher education is desirable. Preferred experience in designing and delivering e-learning courses and overseeing digital education programs. Additional education may be used in lieu of experience.Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties: Provides leadership and support to the College of Criminal Justice ( COCJ ) and Criminal Justice Center ( CJC ) for the Premium Distance Learning initiative, transitioning existing programs to hybrid or fully online learning models for professional development instruction, and extending programs beyond Sam Houston State University ( SHSU ) core campuses.Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only): Provides leadership and support to the College of Criminal Justice ( COCJ ) and Criminal Justice Center ( CJC ) for the Premium Distance Learning initiative, transitioning existing programs to hybrid or fully online learning models for professional development instruction, and extending programs beyond Sam Houston State University ( SHSU ) core campuses. Responsible for the completion of the Premium Distance Learning ( PDL ) initiative, while simultaneously developing a method of sustainable, continuous updates. Works with COCJ departments to include course scheduling, evaluations, hiring and oversight of adjunct faculty. Collaborates with Integrated Marketing Communications ( IMC ) for COCJ and CJC program marketing for PDL and extension programs. Recommends policies and procedures for expansion of state-wide course offerings. Establishes hybrid or fully online programs with the CJC institutes and centers using pre-existing programs. Creates infrastructure to support participants, institutes and centers. Stays up-to-date with technological advancements and innovations that can enhance online learning programs. Provides leadership, vision, and management to the online and extension programs in COCJ and CJC . Develops activities, policies, procedures, and departmental culture that facilities, promotes, and sustains collaboration with the campus community. Develops and implements community outreach educational resources through cjtexas.org website. Responsible for organizing, planning, and evaluating personnel, work assignments, supervision, training, and technical direction of staff. Evaluates programs and services to identify areas of strengths and necessary improvements. Develops strategies and processes to optimize online learning operations for the college. Ensures compliance with applicable state and federal laws, University policy and divisional directives. Directs day-to-day operations of the online and extension learning within the college. Provides accurate and timely reports to professional staff. Makes decisions about objectives, operating procedures, and policies. Serves on committees as requested. Performs other related duties as assigned.
