SUMMARY Under the direct supervision of the Regional Director, the Executive Director will work closely with Development and Mission Outcomes Departments to identify, foster, and recognize vital community relationships to advance the mission of the Epilepsy Foundation. Affiliations include Epilepsy Centers and medical professionals, business leaders, individual and group volunteers, government representatives and interns to help lead the core activities of the Epilepsy Foundation. The Executive Director will work closely with department staff to develop a comprehensive needs assessment of each area and develop and implement a strategy for reaching relationship recruitment goals. The ability to assess data and adjust to the market trends is required. A thorough understanding and implementation of organizational policies and procedures is required. Strong leadership, management and communication skills are required to engage the community, corporate partners, committees, and boards. Building team spirit and comradery in a fast-paced non-profit environment is a priority. While this position works from a home office, physical residency in Alabama is required for this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward both individual and organizational partnerships within assigned territory that promote the mission of EF and support people with epilepsy -35%

Develops and supports engagement both in-person and virtual activities within assigned territory -25%

Prioritize the identification of highly qualified volunteers to lead and assist Mission Outcomes’ program initiatives and trainings - 20%

Connects newly formed relationship with appropriate staff and/or leadership volunteers within the organization -10%

Assures community engagement data is sourced within the organization’s CRM and other necessary software platforms to track and measure impact – 10%

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Professionally and with the disposition of team unity, interact with EF national office staff as needed.

Possesses a strong understanding of the Epilepsy Foundation’s mission, programs, services, research, advocacy, and fundraising opportunities and can convey information in an engaging style, both verbal and written.

Secures priority relationships through local media, web, social media, personal outreach, and networking within the assigned territory.

Based on data, the ability to make changes in fast-paced transition when necessary.

Implements protocols and policies as needed.

Assurance all software platforms are being utilized toward maximum capacity.

Assist with other duties and special projects, as assigned.

Works with Department leads to implement a case statement for aligning with the Foundation.

Possesses a strong understanding of the Epilepsy Foundation’s mission, programs, services, research, advocacy, and fundraising opportunities and can convey information in an engaging style, both verbal and written.

Ensures proper training/orientations and background checks are performed where necessary.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree required with master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum six (6) years of experience working with volunteer and professional disciplines in a not-for-profit or for-profit environment.

Previous or current employment developing, recognizing, and maintaining relationships in the best interest of the organization.

Ability to think strategically includes a strong understanding of outcomes-based goals and objectives based on data.

Demonstrated ability to make decisions in difficult situations that are judicious and fiscally sound.

Proficiency with MS Office and other data-base software platforms. Employee must also be comfortable learning new technical systems, as needed.

Experience with Adobe Professional and other graphics programs desirable.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Bilingual preferred; at a minimum, the ability to understand and to make oneself understood to all Spanish speaking individuals

OTHER SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES

A high level of detail orientation and accuracy (checking your work for accuracy is especially important).

Ability to prioritize work assignments and track multiple projects simultaneously and follow through to completion with each.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on assigned duties; a sense of ownership and urgency in completing assigned job duties is essential.

Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills.

Uses sound judgment and maintains strict confidentiality.

Ability to develop and maintain data reports for measuring impact.

Understanding of Government Relations and public policy process.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Working in a collaborative, engaging style with all departments is essential

MANAGES

0 TRAVEL, WORK ENVIRONMENT, AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM local time.

The executive director operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses office equipment (currently working from home, under our current COVID operations policy and will continue until further notice).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and will require staring at a computer screen and/or documents for extended periods of time, standing/moving around when filing for extended periods of time, some lifting (boxes, packages, office equipment) and moving tables/chairs to set up meeting spaces.

Travel and/or virtual meetings throughout the assigned geographic footprint is required with occasional regional or national travel expected.

Work might be required on some evenings and weekends for events and/or selected programs.

Telework privileges may be requested, in accordance with our standard telework policy. Satisfactory performance and excellent customer service must be maintained.

SALARY

$65,000 - $80,000
