Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is looking for a Laser Cutter Operator to join our teams supporting Boeing Commercial Airplanes based out of Auburn, WA.This role offers the chance to operate cutting-edge laser machines, develop innovative solutions, and contribute to the creation of cutting-edge aerospace technology.Position Responsibilities:

In this position employees operate 3 and 5 axis Numerically Controlled laser cutting machines. Creating and editing N/C programs supporting production and research requirements.

Developing fixtures and improving processes involved with the laser cutting process.

Employment in this position also requires lifting and carrying less than 10 pounds, standing, bending and twisting at the waist, walking, rotation of head/neck, finger manipulation, flexion/extension, contact with metals, exposure to noise, lasers, nonionizing radiation and atmospheric conditions, and the use of personal safety gear for face/eye, ears and feet.

Obtain work by reviewing work orders for schedule and prioritize accordingly by load date, as required.

Perform safety inspection of equipment (e.g., CO2, oxygen tanks, nitrogen tanks, helium tanks, laser room enclosure) to ensure safe operation.

Monitor inert gas bottles and change when necessary handling in a safe and efficient manner, as required.

Maintain/check file system for availability of resources (e.g., programmed disk, drawings, pictures, tie ins about job) prior to operation of laser machine.

Maintain storage rack for coordinating tools (e.g., (LHF) laser holding fixtures, (SHF) shaper holding fixture, (PCM) photo copy masters) use as needed for coordination to parts to be cut. Monitor enclosed laser cutting room to limit access and prevent entry during operation of laser, as required.

Determine laser adjustments (e.g., pierce, frequency, duty, feed, pulse) for cutting requirements to material being cut, as required.

Operate numerically controlled 3/5-axis Laser cutting machine performing work (e.g., lens adjustment, make, add, edit, N/C programs, check mirrors) also prepare laser bed to position parts/tools, as required.

Test run N/C program prior to actual cutting operation to ensure programming is correct, as required.

Clean/deburr production parts (e.g., remove residue, burrs, sharp edges) prior to release to shop, as required.

Resolve problems and determine parts to be cut working through inter organizational coordination (e.g., planning, engineering, production, tooling), as required.

Design set-ups for tools/parts (e.g., facility plates, fixtures) used as holding devices for laser cutting operations, as required.

Operate personal computers to access on line computer systems (e.g., Bold/Web, CATIA) to obtain appropriate drawings, Boeing (BAC) specifications documents, as required.

Perform first part check using precision measuring tools (e.g., height gauge, calipers, micrometer) to ensure accuracy.

Layout/plan work, using shop math (e.g., geometry, and/or trigonometry) for calculation of dimensions, as required.

Investigate and resolve shop/engineering rejections by recommending methods, processes, and sequences of operations, which can be used in machining to solve problems.

Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner, as required.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

1+ year experience having 3 and 5 axis Numerically Controlled laser cutting machine experience

1 + year experience Perform safety inspection of equipment

1 + year experience Operate personal computers to access on line computer systems (e.g., Bold/Web, CATIA) to obtain appropriate drawings, Boeing (BAC) specifications documents, as required.

1 + year experience Perform first part check using precision measuring tools (e.g., height gauge, calipers, micrometer) to ensure accuracy.

Must be able to lift 35 pounds

Typical Education/Experience:High school graduate or GED.Relocation:This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.
