United States of America - New York, BuffaloJob SummaryAECOM has a position available in Buffalo, NY for a for a Senior Civil Engineer.The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to the following:
Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's of Science degree in environmental or civil engineering
6+ Years of relevant experience in traditional civil engineering applications and hazardous waste/petroleum remediation
Independently prepares design analysis reports, design criteria, contract documents (drawings and specifications) and cost estimates
Interfaces with clients/regulators and is knowledgeable of environmental regulations and remedial technologies
Conducts project meeting internally and with stakeholders including pre-bid, pre-construction and progress meetings
Responds to RFIs and shop drawings/submittals
Utilizes technical writing skills for correspondence/reports
Prepares design calculations
Due to the nature of the work, US citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineering License in New York
Master's of Science in engineering discipline
Construction management experience
Experience with: landfills, shore stabilization, revetments, stormwater management, shoring, geotechnical, concrete, construction testing
Remediation design including in-situ soil and groundwater treatment
Construction management experience
Business development skills
Subcontractor procurement and management
