Carpenter - West MichiganJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced carpenter to join our team. The role involves commercial carpentry tasks including the design, construction, installation, remodeling, retrofitting, and repair of interior and exterior structures made of wood, drywall, plaster, concrete, or brick. You will work on a variety of projects including cabinets, tables, shelves, benches, partitions, flooring, and door and window frames. The role also involves cleaning, maintaining, adjusting, calibrating, and servicing equipment used in the performance of duties.Responsibilities
Perform interior and exterior carpentry work.
Handle wood and metal studs, blocking, and sheathing.
Install windows, doors, and hardware.
Install cabinets and countertops.
Install trim including base, case, and crown molding.
Design, construct, install, retrofit, and repair interior and exterior structures.
Clean, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and service equipment used in carpentry work.
Install, repair, and maintain building roofs.
Assist in writing specifications for repairs and new construction.
Essential Skills
5+ years of carpentry/general trades/finish carpentry experience.
Proficiency in interior and exterior carpentry.
Experience with wood and metal studs, blocking, and sheathing.
Skill in installing windows, doors, hardware, cabinets, and countertops.
Ability to install trim including base, case, and crown molding.
Knowledge of rough and finish carpentry.
Proficiency in drywall installation and repair.
Experience in commercial construction.
Ability to handle new construction tasks.
Work EnvironmentCandidates will be working on commercial and industrial sites with varying conditions. Job sites can range from hot and humid to cold and wet environments. You must be comfortable working outside and in different weather conditions.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
