Description We are seeking an Accounting Specialist for a wholesale distribution company in Wyoming, Michigan. This role presents a contract to hire employment opportunity, in which you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and providing backup support for payroll processing. The role involves working with accounting principles and requires excellent organizational skills to function effectively in a dynamic environment.Responsibilities: Generate and send out invoices to clients in a timely manner Follow up on outstanding receivables and resolve any billing discrepancies Maintain accurate records of client payments and update the accounts receivable ledger Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies Maintain vendor relationships and address inquiries regarding payments Assist with payroll processing and ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll transactions Prepare payroll reports and assist with payroll tax filings as needed Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements Reconcile financial data and resolve discrepancies to ensure accuracy of financial reports Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation for all financial transactions Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support. Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with Billing Functions Ability to handle Check Processing Prior experience in the Wholesale Distribution - Dur Goods industry is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex information Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
