Position: Plant Manager TraineeLocation: Lovell, WY

bentonite-related products, as well as chromite and leonardite, to industrial

Materials segment include specially formulated green sand bond solutions for
metalcasting, additives for powdered laundry detergent formulation, and pet
litter. This segment operates more than 25 mining or production facilities
worldwide. The Performance Materials segment also provides products for
non-residential construction, environmental and infrastructure projects
worldwide. It serves customers engaged in a broad range of construction
projects, including site remediation, concrete waterproofing for underground
structures, liquid containment on projects ranging from landfills to flood
control, and drilling applications including foundation, slurry wall, tunneling,
water well and horizontal drilling.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Manager Trainee at ourLovell, WY location. As a Plant Manager Trainee you are a critical part of the
company’s achievements. You will learn to manage all plant operations with
overall responsibility for safety, production, maintenance, quality and other
production-related activities in the most efficient manner. In doing so you will
learn to collaborate with many other areas of the company, working as a team,
to deliver the best service and product possible to our customers. The Plant
Manager Trainee must be geographically flexible for several years and will be
required to be mobile as he/she will be assigned to designated manufacturing
plant or production facility during the training period and afterwards.
Position Details:The Plant Manager Trainee will work alongside an experienced Plant Manager
and be responsible for:
The day to day operations of assigned manufacturing plant or production
facility including safety, production, quality and profitability;
Establishing and implementing organizational policies, processes and
procedures;
- Motivation, training, development and supervision of all production
associates;
- Initiate and Implement Capital Projects;
- Daily monitoring and reporting of Plant Processes;
- Track and report plant variable and fixed spending;
- Analysis of operating data – develop, prioritize, and implement
improvement solutions;
- Product and Customer Evaluations;
- Develop/Update Operator Standard Work
OE/Lean
Along with the experienced Plant Manager, the Plant Manager Trainee will be
responsible for managing, supporting and achieving Operational Excellence
and lean goals and initiatives through the following:
5S, inventory reduction, process flow mapping, value stream mapping, visual
management, standard work, Kaizen events, statistical process control, and
Total Productive Maintenance
- Leading the team in a continuous improvement work environment
- Supporting quality teams and management with OE initiatives and
actively suggests opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in applicable field is required
- Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- High-energy, self-motivated team player with the ability to multitask
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail
Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
typically required to have the ability to work in an office environment, read,
write, listen, speak, and understand English, follow and provide instructions
and other oral/written information, compose correspondence in a professional
manner, complete documentation accurately, analyze information/situations,
be organized and detail-oriented, be able to identify/judge the urgency of a
situation, use judgment in decision making and negotiation when necessary.
Although the incumbent is required to regularly conduct work in a controlled
office environment, on a frequent and regular basis, there will be exposure to
plant production areas, which includes exposure to outside weather
conditions. In addition, conditions may be hot, moist environments and may
be dusty.
