OverviewWhat You’ll Be DoingCadmus seeks a Planning & Capacity Building Senior Associate to join our growing Resilient Infrastructure Practice Area within the Climate Line of Business. This person will provide thought leadership in urban planning, sustainable design, as well as transportation and master planning. They will bring significant experience in project management and business development.The Senior Associate will report to the Resilience Infrastructure Practice Area Lead and be responsible for overseeing staff focused on building the capacity of underserved communities to access and manage federal grants for transportation reconnection projects. They will lead urban planning projects and program-level tasks. Manage budgets and internal and external (e.g. subcontractor) resources to deliver high-quality work products;

Lead the delivery of planning-related technical assistance to increase the capacity of underserved communities to manage federal grants effectively;

Present confidently to internal and external audiences, including federal, state, and local government officials;

Cultivate industry and client relationships to develop new opportunities and expand work with existing clients;

Help identify and develop new offerings, opportunities, and clients;

Contribute subject matter expertise in transportation and urban planning and development of infrastructure projects;

Lead the development of task order proposals, meeting proposal deadlines and standards of quality; and

Manage staff and contribute to their professional development.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:

AMaster’s degree in urban planning, public administration, public policy, or other related field and aminimum of 8 years’ experience working in urban, transportation, and/or environmental planning for government agencies;

Expertise in two or more of the following topics: planning, design, project financing, environmental review and permitting, community engagement, equitable engagement and decision-making, and/or grant administration;

Strong familiarity with local and regional government operations, especially related to government-sponsored infrastructure project design and delivery;

Experience working with state and local departments of transportation;

AICP Certification preferred;

Significant experience managing projects (preferably transportation related) on behalf of government clients;

Successful experience with business development, including proposal writing;

Experience with project planning and budget management (value of at least $1M/year); and

Experience managing staff.

Candidate must be willing/able to travel up to 25%.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen.
