Personnel Coordinator

The Personnel Coordinator provides hands-on support to the Personnel Supervisor and is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of employee documents and files. The Personnel Coordinator ensures that company procedures are followed at all times, that employee files and documents are maintained, and ensures that employee training is up-to-date.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports directly to the Personnel Supervisor (USA) and indirectly to the Operations Manager (USA).

Essential Job Functions

· Answer the main phone line and act as a first point-of-contact for employee inquiries and escalate issues, where appropriate

· Pre-screen and categorize online applications daily

· Arrange pre-employment, pre-access and post-incident testing

· Arrange crew travel and border crossing documentation, as required

· Update daily crew sheets

· Coordinate completion of new hire packages

· Coordinate training and safety tickets, self-teach and online courses, onboarding

· Assist with clothing inventory (orders, shipping, receiving)

· Ensure employee files are maintained and up-to-date

· Ensure that paperwork is submitted to the payroll department in a timely fashion

· Perform administrative work, including sorting mail and shipping and receiving

· Ensure employee status changes are completed in a timely fashion, as required

· Other duties, as assigned

Educational Requirements

· Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management or a combination of education and experience.

Related Experience Requirements

· Experience working in a similar role for a drilling contractor is preferred, but not essential.

· Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, even when difficulties arise.

· Excellent teamwork and ability to work well with various levels of staff and management, as this position interacts regularly with both field and operational staff.

· Strong communication skills.
