Construction Project Engineer (hybrid)Wheaton, WI System One is currently seeking a Construction Project Engineer (hybrid) on a 12 month contract position located in Wheaton, WI. Construction Project Engineer Responsibilities:
Managing construction contracts for a new power plant construction project located in Wheaton, WI, within West Central Wisconsin.
Will be overseeing multiple construction contracts, many of which involve the same contractor but operate under separate agreements.
This position is more focused on the construction and project management aspects, including handling contractual matters.
Managing construction contracts: Ensuring that the separate contracts are adhered to and addressing any issues related to contractual obligations.
Technical component: Responding to contractors requests for information (RFIs) by collaborating with the engineering team to provide technical responses.
Travel and site visits: Regular travel to the construction site n Wheaton, with visits ranging from one to three days per week based on project needs. Full time presence on-site may also be required depending on the project phase.
Project Coordination: Supporting a sister project in Shakopee, MN, with a remainder of the time spent in the Twin Cities metro area (either at the downtown Minneapolis office or at the Shakopee facility). The project has both a technical and managerial focus, blending construction oversight with engineering coordination and necessitating flexibility in travel and on-site presence.
Will be supporting a team that includes several key players including the Project Manager, Engineering Team, Contractors, Project Controls Team and Construction Managers.
Construction Project Engineer Requirements:
MS Office suite: Proficiency in tools like Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Microsoft Project
8-10 years experience in Construction and Project Management
Strong Organizational skills
Document Control
Engineering Understanding (Multi-Discipline)
Ability to understand and utilize project schedules
Contract Management
Experience supporting construction projects previously, preferably in person
Previous experience as a Construction Manager or Field Engineer
BS degree in Engineering but open to other degrees as well.
Duration: 12 months
Location: Wheaton, WI
Pay rate: $85-89/hr
PD paid for non-local candidates
Local Candidates would be paid for mileage
Worksite/Fleet vehicles may be available for use onsite only.
Will be on-site in Wheaton, WI, within West Central WI 1-3 days per week depending on project. Would also be expected to travel to Shakopee, MN at least once a month. Remote the rest of the work days.
