Intern- works under the Team Lead or other senior personnel and is involved with many phases of the development process. This individual assist with developing, building, implementing, and maintaining information systems for patient care, financial, clinical, insurance, infrastructure, network, data warehouse, research and ancillary areas.This intern will be part of our IT Business Management team, with focus on a critical need project. External Provider Setup is a key effort required for timely scheduling, timely billing, timely communication of results, and accurate alignment of patients to providers for quality purposes. This intern will be involved in understanding this effort and participate in the work to shift the process to a more efficient use of people and technology. We have opportunities to automate repetitive portions of this work and align efforts to most appropriate areas of the business. This intern will gain exposure to many areas of the healthcare business, as well as across many functions of Information Services. Students with IT, finance, and business backgrounds will be well-positioned for success in this intern role.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONFor positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.Minimum Required: Student working toward a bachelor’s degree or recent graduate of a program in a Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Applied Math, Management Information Systems, or Web Development major with available "for credit" intern arrangements.Preferred/Optional: High grades or other evidence of academic success. Experience with programming training. Knowledge of C, C#, or other object-oriented programming language.EXPERIENCEMinimum Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Preferred/Optional: Experience with personal computers with Microsoft operating systems.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESThe following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. This work touches business areas crossing revenue cycle, patient scheduling, health information management.
