Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the industry located in West Allis, Wisconsin. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity, where you will be instrumental in supporting our finance team. Your main duties will involve preparing and reviewing budget allocations, conducting fiscal analysis, implementing new financial reporting software, and managing grant administration.Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation and review of budget and capital improvement programs. Collaborate with various departments to prepare payroll budgets considering varied funding sources. Conduct fiscal analysis to provide insightful financial data for decision-making. Generate revenue estimates to aid in financial planning. Update existing formulas and spreadsheets for efficient data analysis and create new ones as required. Perform data entry in financial software and other documents to maintain accurate records. Assist in the preparation and delivery of budget presentations to different audiences. Administer FEMA and CARES grants including reporting and compliance. Implement new financial reporting software to streamline financial processes. Support the selection and implementation of online payments, possibly consolidating existing ones to a single provider. Perform other day-to-day cost and fund accounting tasks as needed. Requirements Demonstrated proficiency in Budgeting and Budgeting - Forecasting Proven experience in managing Payroll Understanding of Fiscal Management and Fiscal Operation Proficiency in using MS Excel and Microsoft Excel Experience in Grant Accounting and Grant Management Previous involvement in System Implementation projects Knowledge of Fund Accounting Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines High attention to detail and accuracy in work Knowledge of federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
