Job Description SummaryThe Architect Engineer, Thermal will lead all phases of the thermal mechanical product development life cycle for New Product Introductions (NPI), in particular Photon Counting CT Detector. The candidate will own completion of detailed mechanical and thermal designs including modeling/simulation, performance analysis and testing of the detector subsystems. The individual will work cross-functionally within Detector and System engineering teams, along with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality and Service teams. In addition to NPI, this role requires support to quality projects within the Imaging Detectors Platform (CT, PET and X-RAY), current products (IB), and Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) programs. This role requires hands-on, onsite work at our Waukesha, WI location.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities

Engage in all phases of new product development: conceptualization, selection, documentation, functional and detailed design, prototyping, measurement and performance testing, supplier interactions and capability, manufacturing introduction, and service support.

Lead development and execution of robust thermal mechanical design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles while adhering to business & Industry standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.

Work from product specifications and requirements to develop component and assembly thermal profiles, control and specification ranges, geometry, materials, and establish acceptable performance standards

Use simulation software to model dynamic temperature scenarios in a variety of operating modes.

Use CAD software to produce design elements: 3D models, 2D detailed drawings, thermal/structural models/simulations and analyses.

Lead design visualization efforts with 3D CAD models and essential component and assembly details to explore multiple design options

Create mechanical component designs and select the proper and cost-effective manufacturing technique; casting, thermoforming, injection molding, welding, machining, sheet-metal fab, additive-manufacturing, adhesives, bolted-joint design

Generate high-quality, accurate Bills of Materials and component/assembly specifications

Perform complex calculations, analyses, and testing to verify requirements and assumptions

Direct the construction and testing of prototype and pilot products; conduct testing and analyze results
