Tool and Die MakerResponsibilities
Draw, transfer, and build progressive dies for the metal stamping industry.
Build welding, inspection, and assembly fixtures per design.
Read prints and complicated schematics to manufacture new tooling, fixtures, and machine parts.
Mentor apprentice toolmakers and guide them as they work towards becoming a journeyman.
Analyze 3D designs and models to be manufactured.
Maintain accurate records of tool and die maintenance and repairs.
Perform test runs on tools to ensure they function properly and that the finished parts meet print specifications.
Look for and make suggestions on areas to improve efficiencies within the company.
Comply with all established safety guidelines.
Occasionally assist with die maintenance, press set-up, or other tooling support as needed.
Maintain a clean work area.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisors or Managers.
Essential Skills
Experience with tool and die making.
Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
Ability to analyze 3D designs and models.
Computer literacy in CAD Software, preferably SolidWorks.
At least 5 years of experience building metal stamping dies.
Ability to work independently or as a team to accomplish goals.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to suggest solutions to problems.
Excellent attendance.
Attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to mentor and guide apprentice toolmakers.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Work EnvironmentThis position operates on 1st shift hours: 6:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, with additional overtime as required on Saturdays.
