Description We are seeking a Controller to join our team. This role is an onsite position, offering a short-term contract employment opportunity. As a Controller, you'll be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing payroll, and ensuring compliance with government regulations. You'll also collaborate closely with seasoned employees in Accounts Payable and Payroll, as well as Accounts Receivable.Responsibilities: Preparing timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting. Ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time, including all reporting requirements. Reviewing, approving, and ensuring proper accounting for Accounts Payable. Managing project accounting processes and ensuring compliance with customer contract costs. Coordinating and leading the annual audit process. Identifying and implementing continuous improvement plans for accounting systems. Working closely with an external CPA to file accurate and timely tax returns. Managing and maintaining accurate files in support of Accounting Manager functional responsibilities. Providing ad hoc financial reports or related support as needed. Working with systems that don’t communicate with each other – extracting and manipulating data. Experience with Sage 100 and ADP for payroll is desirable. Familiarity with government contracts would be beneficial.Requirements Must possess proficiency in ADP - Financial Services Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) is essential Experience in Auditing is required Familiarity with Budget Processes is necessary Must have hands-on experience with Sage 100 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must Experience with Month End Close is required Ability to handle Journal Entries is essential The candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary Must have a customer-focused attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred Several years of experience in a similar role as a Controller is preferable.
