Reporting to the Sr. Director of Commercial & Procurement, theProcurement Buyerrecommends and develops strategic purchasing initiatives in the assigned area.Responsibilities include forecasting internal customer needs, sourcing solutions, providing cost-benefit analysis, and leading the RFP processes, including results driven, contract negotiations.TheProcurement Buyerserves as a liaison between vendors and internal customers, creating transparent and productive working relationships.The original and iconic HARIBO Goldbears, created in 1922, have delighted kids and grown-ups for 100 years!Our associates are our most valuable asset. Manage the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting the agreement, issue resolution, negotiating terms and prices, and approving and executing the final signed contract

Manage the end-to-end strategic sourcing process including sourcing new vendors, data and market analysis, strategy development, pricing negotiations and contract review.

Develop long-term partnerships with world-class suppliers to source direct materials while establishing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers for RFIs and RFPs.

Responsible for managing the purchase of raw materials and ensuring on-time delivery to meet the production schedule and product specifications.

Responsible for supporting the plant by identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating raw material pricing based on mix / grade and participating with the grading process on raw materials.

Perform cost benefit analysis and determine opportunities for savings, project efficiency, and strategic sourcing initiatives

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to develop scope of work and bid documents for RFPs, serving as the system expert and providing coaching and support as necessary

Continuously develop and optimize supplier relationships to gather information in an effort to source the best quality materials at the optimum price at proper lead-times to meet business requirements

Generate monthly reports and identify areas for cost containment/reductions in all areas of ownership as it relates to purchasing

Identify smarter solutions for optimizing processes, while reducing costs cross functionally

Conduct day-to-day purchasing for multiple departments in accordance to HARIBO’s policies and procedures

Maintain confidential company information and filing system for purchases and correspondence documents

Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field is required

Minimum of 5 years of direct buying experience required; preferably within a CPG, Food & Beverage, Snacking or Confectionary company

SAP experience is required; Preferably the SAP S4 Hana Purchasing module

Understanding of procurement trends and legal terms as they relate to purchasing contracts and framework agreements

Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing and analytical skills are required

Ability to partner with people at all levels of the organization is required

Experience with Microsoft Office – Word, Power Point, Access and intermediate to Advance Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or Master’s degree

Demonstrated success anticipating future business opportunities or problems and developing strategies to address them proactively

Detail oriented and with a high level of follow through on execution
