Cost Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARYThe Cost Analyst ensures accurate cost records and keeps the records up to date.  Tests and identifies opportunities for cost savings.  Understands how activities and their costs are linked to products, processes and customers.  Tracks monthly costs and production activity to provide insight into areas meeting cost reduction and process or profit improvement.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Functions)The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:Utilize SAP to perform process order variance analysis Assist Controller with YTG forecasting and annual budgeting processes Perform time studies to accurately understand labor utilization Submit annual bill of material and recipe (labor) updates Assist in annual standard cost roll process Roll and review standard costs for new and materially changed materials throughout the year Work with Continuous Improvement team to calculate and track cost savings initiatives  ; Partnering with the business to determine and implement process improvements.Assist with cost estimations for brand new items and new configurations as requested Use SAP to perform and manage cycle count processes to maintain accurate inventories; making necessary inventory adjustments Calculate and process period end close journal entries and accruals Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary
