The LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN is responsible for a variety of job tasks (including mostly physical labor) to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects. Job responsibilities also include utilizing various hand tools, power tools, and equipment to carry out specified job duties.

JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for hardscape and softscape landscape construction
Have a basic understanding of and able interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to assist with landscape constructions.
Construct rock gardens, fieldstone walls, retaining walls, and brick paver installations.
Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and bulbs
Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants.
Cart and spread topsoil and other required materials.
Lay sod or seed, grading (soil), and tree staking.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other necessary equipment to complete job tasks.
Move and transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and manual lifting.
Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environments, shop and equipment
Conduct daily safety inspections of tools and equipment.
Follow directions from Landscape Construction Foreman.
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Comply with all company policies and regulations.
Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma, GED or in the process of completing.
Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Minimal experience in the landscape/construction industry
Show a willingness to learn and accept our company culture and processes.
Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
Understand landscape maintenance operations.
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
Show an understanding of efficient Time management skills.
Speak, read, and write English.
Carry and use a smart phone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting.
Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.
Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift.
Requires good manual dexterity.
Excellent stamina and dexterity throughout an entire day.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold.
