A Cabinet Refacing Installer is responsible for transforming existing kitchen or bathroom cabinets by applying new exterior surfaces, such as veneers or laminates, to give them a fresh, updated look. This role involves preparing the cabinets, installing new doors and drawer fronts, and ensuring a high-quality, professional finish.
Responsibilities:
Preparation:
Preparing the existing cabinet surfaces for refacing by cleaning, sanding, and potentially removing existing hardware or doors.
Installation:
Installing new refacing materials like veneers, laminates, or other specified materials to the cabinet boxes, ensuring proper alignment and adhesion.
Hardware Installation:
Installing new cabinet doors, drawer fronts, handles, hinges, and other hardware as required, ensuring proper fit and functionality.
Demolition/Removal:
In some cases, this may involve removing existing cabinet doors, drawer fronts, or other components before refacing.
Adhesive Application:
Applying appropriate adhesives, such as silicone or epoxy, to bond the refacing materials to the cabinets.
Final Touches:
Ensuring a clean and professional finish, including any necessary trim work, caulking, or other detailing.
Job Site Management:
Maintaining a clean and organized work area, and potentially assisting with the removal of old materials.
Customer Interaction:
Communicating effectively with clients and team members to ensure a smooth and professional installation process.
Quality Assurance:
Ensuring all work meets the company's quality standards and customer satisfaction.
Following Instructions:
Accurately interpreting and following installation plans, drawings, and specifications.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in cabinet refacing or similar woodworking and installation projects, proficiency with woodworking tools, including routers, saws, drills, sanders, and nail guns. Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure precise installation, ability to address any issues or challenges that arise during the installation process, strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and team members.
Licensing: General Liability, Workers Comp, Auto Insurance, willingness to be lead certified
