JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Any combination of skills: minor to moderate-level plumbing, electrical, carpentry and appliance repair – entry to advanced skill level in some or most of these areas is desirable:
Flooring / counters / cabinet removal and replacement
Painting of apartments
Completion of work orders/repairs in a timely fashion
Maintaining positive customer relations, attitude and confidentiality when dealing with residents
Performing apartment turn overs to company standards within a reasonable and quick time frame
Handling some tree / shrub clean up (occasional)
Helping with snow removal (occasional)
Cleaning up properties when time allows
Completing other projects or requests as directed by supervisor
Communicating with office and field staff to track tenant info, maintenance updates, move outs, etc.
Improving overall appearance of buildings and grounds
GENERAL SKILLS
Provide excellent service to clients and staff at the office and in the field
Perform problem solving and think of ways to efficiently offer repairs and upgrades
Deliver high quality and accuracy when installing, repairing, or maintaining items
Provide helpful information and feedback to staff and project a positive image and build confidence in the company
Be friendly, flexible, and maintain professionalism and a positive attitude even in difficult situations
Be creative, adaptable, and display good judgement
Have comfort with email and a willingness to learn how to use our system for work orders and notes
Take ownership in our properties by helping to improve buildings and grounds
Demonstrate strong communication skills – speaking, writing, listening
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have reliable transportation to and from work – primary job sites are in greater Milwaukee County and we prefer someone within about 10 to 20 minutes so they can respond quickly to occasional emergencies
Ability to be able to work outside, crawl into spaces, lift and move materials, climb ladders, etc.
Must pass a basic background check
HOURS
Full time, generally 40 hours per week, with overtime rarely required
Some flexibility for start time (8:00 – 9:00AM) and end time (5:00 – 6:00PM) Monday thru Friday
Some overtime may be available if you take turns with emergency calls (heat, water, etc.)
COMPENSATION
