Job Description: Oral Surgery Assistant
Location: Primarily Wauwatosa, WI, with occasional travel to metro Milwaukee area
Starting Wage: $23/hour, with eligibility for $25/hour upon successful completion of training program
Hours:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM or until last patient
- Thursday: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM or until last patient
- Approximately 55 hours per biweekly pay period
Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Oral Surgery Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, dependable attendance, and a strong willingness to learn. This role involves supporting oral surgeons in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will have the opportunity to grow professionally through our comprehensive training program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile and organized environment
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for surgeries
- Provide chairside assistance, including suctioning, retraction, and passing instruments
- Monitor patient vitals and comfort during procedures
- Educate patients on post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Perform sterilization and infection control protocols
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as scheduling and inventory management
- Travel to various metro Milwaukee locations as required (primarily based in Wauwatosa)
Qualifications:
- Good attitude, reliable attendance, and eagerness to learn
- Prior experience in dental or medical assisting preferred but not required
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced setting
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel within metro Milwaukee
Training Program:
Eligible candidates will participate in our comprehensive training program after 3 months of employment, which includes:
- IV course and starting IVs
- Sedation safety training
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Successful completion of the training program qualifies you for a wage increase to $25/hour.
