Job Title: Senior BuyerJob DescriptionIssue purchase orders for assigned products and services, negotiate pricing, and ensure supplier compliance, especially delivery dates and quantity/quality. Resolve invoice discrepancies. Identify new and current key suppliers to include dual sourcing opportunities for critical long lead-time parts. Build and maintain supplier relationships to secure the best price, service, quality, and delivery. Drive cost reduction and cost avoidance opportunities; participate in cost reduction projects. Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained to minimize costs while ensuring a high level of service; proactively avoid material shortages. Manage supplier performance; ensure suppliers are performing at an acceptable level and participate in Supplier Team Audits and site visits. Work with internal customers, such as customer service, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and accounting, to streamline processes in support of customer service excellence. Work closely with Supplier Quality to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action to minimize impact on production. Other duties as assigned.Position RequirementsMinimum 5-7 years of experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain -manufacturing environment desired.Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or equivalent business-related field, preferred. CPM or APICS certification desired.Ability to read drawing and discuss technical requirements such as dimensions, tolerances, finishes, and other aspects of manufacturingwith suppliers.Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Team-oriented and able to work in cross functional teams.Strong analytical problem-solving skills.Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, manage, and prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining an attention to details.Hard Skills
