Payroll Coord

Description We are in search of a Payroll Administrator in the Energy/Natural Resources industry, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role focuses on preparing and processing payroll for a specific region or group, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. This opportunity offers a short term contract employment.Responsibilities: Conduct weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles for various personnel, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Retrieve, validate, and import hours worked from the accounting system into the payroll system. Verify and analyze employee payroll including pay correction, change of status, special rates, and insurance premium. Manage time banks, sick leave banks, and floating vacations, ensuring accurate record-keeping. Supervise the management of vacation pay and salary input. Ensure timely payroll transmissions at all times. Send payroll accounting entries to the accounting department on a weekly basis. Verify and post employment records, maintaining accurate documentation. Respond to employment insurance inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Participate in audits and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations. Answer internal and external calls as the point of contact for all payroll matters. Participate in the management of the year-end process (T4, R1, CSST/WSIB, etc.). Prepare month-end reports in compliance with deadlines and process check requisitions (pension scheme, union dues, social club, etc.). Complete the Statistics Canada reports and file payroll-related documents, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Requirements Demonstrable experience in Payroll Administration within the Energy/Natural Resources industry Proficiency in payroll software, with a preference for 'About Time' system knowledge Solid understanding of payroll functions, including insurance, pension plans, and union dues Familiarity with compliance management in payroll context, including Sarbanes Oxley 404 Compliance Experience in auditing payroll and accounting entries Strong knowledge of salary structures and requisitions Proven ability in creating and managing documentation related to payroll Track record of producing month-end reports and statistics related to payroll Experience in floating and CSST Ability to effectively answer payroll-related queries from staff and management Proficiency in QA Management Understanding of accounting functions related to payroll.
