Job Title: Medical Lab Scientist IIIJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Lab Scientist III to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine and complex technical procedures and functions in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures. The role involves determining the acceptability of specimens, operating and troubleshooting instrumentation, and ensuring accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.

Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.

Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.

Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.

Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.

Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.

Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.

Assist with the processing of specimens when needed.

Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory CLIA State requirements.

Minimum 5-7 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.

State Medical Technologist license may be required.

ASCP or AMT certification is preferred or required.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Proficient with computers.

High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.

Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.

Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.

Blood bank experience.

ASCP certification.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a medical lab setting. It involves working with laboratory equipment and instrumentation, maintaining safety standards, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. Flexibility in working hours may be required based on business needs.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $41.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
