He or she will have an understanding of estate planning, trusts, and real estate, and they will consult with estate planning attorneys, accountants, trust officers and other professional advisors to close major and planned gifts. As a member of MCHS’s fundraising team, the Planned Giving Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding current and prospective donors for estate and other gifts that will benefit MCHS. The Planned Giving Officer is also responsible for advising Foundation staff on charitable gift planning laws, gift types, and solicitation techniques.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONFor positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field.Preferred/Optional: NoneEXPERIENCEMinimum Required: At least five years’ experience in fundraising, management/leadership, healthcare or non-profit work. A proven track record of building and maintaining meaningful relationships.Preferred/Optional: Experience or knowledge of estate planning, charitable gift planning vehicles, or finance.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESThe following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.
