This individual has responsibilities involving indirect and direct patient care by transporting patients to and from appointments utilizing equipment based on patient needs. The size of patients, beds, and ancillary equipment will vary with every patient transfer. The Patient Transporter can expect to be in physical activity for most of the day and will walk a large portion of the campus in a workday. The Patient Transporter is also responsible for of delivery of equipment, specimens, and other items to designated locations. The Patient Transporter functions in various settings.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONFor positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.Minimum Required: Junior year of high school, High School diploma or equivalent.Preferred/Optional: NoneEXPERIENCEMinimum Required: NonePreferred/Optional: Patient transport, customer service or public relations experience. Demonstrated proficiency with verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Knowledge of medical terminology.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESThe following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.
