RESIDENTIAL FRAMING CARPENTER

Zimmerman Builders is a construction company that specializes in residential framing. We hire quality people to build quality homes. We have immediate openings for carpenters to join our team. We are looking for skilled framers but are willing to invest in and train the right candidate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of a framer include everything involved in building the wooden framework of a house from the foundation up which involves the floor system, walls, roof trusses, sheath roof, set windows and exterior doors in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and various layouts
Accurately measure distances and/or materials such as boards, timbers, plywood, etc.
Read a tape measure
Cut materials to required size using circular saw
Assemble and fasten material together to construct wood framework
Install rough door and window frames, subflooring, and temporary supports as needed
Ensure measurements are accurate and material is plumb/level
Ability to safely lift/carry 50-75lbs or more frequently
Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
Ability to bend, crouch, twist, kneel, reach, etc.
Ability to complete various repetitive movements
Ability to use basic and intermediate hand tools and power tools/machinery
Basic math skills
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Requires exposure to high places
Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Effective time management
Critical thinking/problem solving
Must be reliable, punctual, and have strong work ethic
Must own or be willing to obtain some relevant/proper tools; pouches, personal hand tools
Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites
Valid driver’s license strongly preferred
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
EXPERIENCE
General construction knowledge
Rough Carpentry – preferred
COMPENSATION
Starting pay is based on experience
Pay increases based on reliability, progress, work ethic, etc.
