Capitol Lakes, a vibrant Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in the heart of downtown Madison, is currently seeking a friendly and outgoing full-time Human Resources Assistant who will be responsible for supporting the overall human resources function of Capitol Lakes. The HR Assistant will assist with developing, recommending and implementing human resource policies and programs. Assists in onboarding, new hire processing, orientation, training, benefits administration, leave requests, workers? compensation, safety, and other areas related to human resources and employee relations. Provides guidance, technical assistance and advice in these areas to management and staff.Under limited supervision performs all clerical duties for the Human Resources Department involving independent judgment, initiative and tact. May work on assignments that are sensitive in nature and confidential.What you will do:Take lead role in the recruitment/onboarding process working with regional recruiter to screen applicants, processing background checks and verifying references.Conduct on-boarding/orientation for new employees. Ensure new employees become comfortable with company culture and are aware of human resources support.Maintains current and historical (archived) human resource records. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Tracks all licensing and trainings as required and conducts human resource audits as assigned or needed.As needed, responsible for supplying employee related information (anniversaries etc.) for the publishing of an employee, benefits, and safety postings, newsletter etc.Responsible for various correspondence such as rejection letters, benefit offer letters, FMLA offering etc. and for the upkeep of department supplies and equipment, maintain bulletin board notices etc.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in the local Human Resources Association. Provides information regarding the human resources profession and function to employees and interested members of the community.Responsible for coordinating and completing special projects assigned by the HR Director and/or Executive Director.What you will need:Associates degree in Human Resources or a similar field preferred. Requires basic office administration knowledge which could be through technical training or one plus year?s experience in an office/business setting. Must have intermediate to advanced level of computer skills, including data entry, typing, proficiency MS Office programs (Excel, Word.) Prior experience with ADP/EV5 (payroll) and iCIMS (ATS) is a plus.Professional phone/interpersonal skills and knowledge of office equipment.
