Pay: 62 / hr - 67 / hr Location: Madison, WI Shift: 36 hrs/wk, Evening/Night, 12 hr shifts, Monday-Friday and every other weekend between the hours of 1900-0730 and some holidays. Shift length during orientation week may vary between 4-12 hr shifts. Must be more than 50 miles outside of Madison, WI to be considered As a professional practitioner, the RN - Telemetry assumes the responsibility and accountability for delivery of patient care of telemetry patients. The RN – Telemetry demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner, with supervision. The RN - Telemetry exhibits critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care, and consistently performs according to nursing standards while remaining accountable for providing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on telemetry unit

Performs focused interview to identify specific patient needs

Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition

Monitors EKG output and keeps doctors informed of any changes

Records vital signs, including oxygen levels, blood pressure, breathing patterns, etc.

Monitors patient progress and updates patient medical records as needed

Responds to patients experiencing cardiac pain

Performs various diagnostic tests

Manages and administers medication

Monitors and uses the electrocardiogram, EKG, or ECG

Educates patients on cardiac health and communicates with patient’s family when applicable

Administers tests, analyzes lab results, and reports them to the physician

Documents the patient’s plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions

Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirements

Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standard

Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment

Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventions

Documents patient’s response to nursing and other interventions

Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including established priorities

Monitors safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment

Minimum Requirements:

Current Registered Nurse license for the state in which the nurse practices

One year experience in Telemetry Preferred

Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable

Current CPR if applicable

TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site

Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required

Computer proficiency required

Must be at least 18 years of age
