Software Engineer

Description Robert Half is seeking a Software Engineer to join our client in the agricultural industry, located just north of Madison, WI. This role involves understanding requirements, diagrams, behavior descriptions, and algorithm definitions. You will collaborate with the team to define goals, implement new features, fix bugs, and conduct hands-on lab testing. This is a Direct Hire role that will require a hybrid work schedule (3 days onsite).Responsibilities: Understand and interpret requirements, diagrams, behavior descriptions, and algorithm definitions Collaborate with the broader team to define sprint goals Implement new features and fix bugs as per project requirements Conduct hands-on lab testing to verify software behavior and performance on instruments Manage code changes and versioning in collaboration with team members using Git Continuously explore and adopt new tools and frameworks to improve our software Identify and communicate workplace hazards to the relevant parties to ensure a strong safety culture Be open to working outside of normal business hours when required Utilize JavaFX, Linux, Typescript, Core Java, OpenCV, Angular, C skills in performing tasks Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.Requirements Demonstrated proficiency in JavaFX, Linux, Typescript, Core Java, OpenCV, Angular, and C Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field Previous experience in the agriculture industry is advantageous Strong understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns Ability to troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Knowledge of version control systems such as Git Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Experience with agile development methodologies Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously Willingness to continue learning and improving technical skills.
