Department: Ambulatory Specialty Infusion
Patient Population or Ratio: 4-5 average patients a day
Schedule: Infusion clinic is open Monday-Friday 0730-1700 and Saturday Sunday 0730-1130 at the West Clinic. This position will be every other weekend, weekend hours are located at the West Clinic from 0730-1130.
Location: South Madison Campus Monday-Friday and West Clinic Saturday and Sunday.
$10,000 sign on bonus paid out on FIRST paycheck for eligible candidates!Job Summary:Performs the primary functions of a registered nurse in assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of all assigned patients.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports the care of the patient and assesses and addresses the needs of the patient/family.
Works collaboratively with other interprofessional team members in resolving patient/family problems, concerns and issues.
Collaborates with other departments as needed to establish the patient/family treatment plan.
Individualizes, implements, evaluates or updates the plan of care and patient educational needs regarding vascular access.
Possesses the ability to complete intravenous insertion and assessment to include peripheral and central line access.
Utilizes equipment such as point of care ultrasound equipment and intravenous infusion pumps as appropriate.
Demonstrates proper interpretation of department specific policies and related laboratory results to safely manage specific patient needs.
Implements, monitors and records patient care and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Takes appropriate actions to unanticipated changes in patient condition.
Utilizes the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to access treatment and therapy plans.
Applies the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient’s age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department's scope of service.
Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
