Work collaboratively with kitchen helpers, and other food service employees to perform duties such as portioning food, serving food, cleaning and customer service functions.

Prepare and serve meals according to Food Safety Plan and Standard Operating Procedures

Participate in mandatory agency and departmental training and in-services to further develop professional skills.

Complete basic data entry, including student meal counts and task tracking.

Perform the duties of the supervisor in their absence and provide coverage and support for team members as needed.

Assist with the training of team members and clients as needed.

Respond to emergency situations in accordance with safety training received.

Assist with weekly and end-of-month inventory and submit the required data by the set deadline.

Lead the team and maintain an established work and productivity pace for all team members.

Practice and promote food and physical safety in the workplace and report all accidents according to agency procedures.

Effectively clean and sanitize work areas, following a set schedule and per state and local health code.

Label, date and properly store food and supplies in the cooler, freezer, or storage area per local health code.

Complete assigned opening and closing checklists daily.

Ensure completion of Kitchen Helper I assigned opening and closing checklists.

Complete daily kitchen food safety checklist

Participate in monthly food and physical safety audits

Adhere to all workplace and trade safety laws, regulations, standards, and practices.

Maintain ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification

QualificationsRequired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials: (Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)Minimum Age Requirement: 18 yearsMinimum Required Education: NonePreferred High School Diploma or equivalentMinimum Required Experience: Food service experienceRequired License Certification Registration: ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification upon hire, or within 90 days of hire,Issued By Governing Body (if applicable):Travel outside of office : NoneRequired Valid Driver’s License: NoneRequired Auto Insurance: NoneKnowledge Skills Abilities:Ability to follow proper kitchen techniques and practices and knowledge of all cooking utensils and equipmentAbility to successfully complete all required customer service, food safety and program trainings within 90 days of hire.Ability to communicate customer concerns to designated Food Service staff.Ability to promote cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverablesAbility to diligently attend to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks.Ability to build and maintain customer satisfaction with the products and services offered by the organizationAbility to maintain good grooming and hygiene practices as required by agency, local, State, and federal regulation.Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:Physical Requirements: Reaching, Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
