As a Cheese Applications Scientist, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise to our customers and distributors in the cheese industry, with a focus on the use of cultures and enzymes in cheese production. You will collaborate with internal and external technical experts, understand, and communicate market trends, and identify new opportunities for IFF products and solutions. You will be part of a dynamic and diverse team that is passionate about being the premier partner with our customers to create delicious and sustainable dairy products for consumers around the world. Job Requirements

Work closely with customers and distributors to understand their needs and challenges and provide technical support and guidance on the use of IFF cultures and enzymes in cheese production.

Conduct trials, demonstrations, and trainings at customer sites or IFF facilities, and evaluate the performance and quality of cheese products.

Provide feedback and recommendations to customers and distributors on how to optimize their cheese processes and formulations, and troubleshoot any issues or complaints.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers in the cheese industry, and position IFF as a trusted partner and solution provider.

Collaborate with internal and external technical experts, such as R&D, sales, product managers, marketing, and regulatory, to share knowledge, best practices, and insights on the cheese market and applications.

Monitor and communicate market trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and new opportunities for IFF products and solutions in the cheese segment.

You will also be responsible for supporting new culture and enzyme development, and launch projects for the cheese segment.

Participate in trade shows, seminars, webinars, and other events to promote IFF's cheese capabilities and offerings.

Travel throughout USA and occasionally to Canada to visit customers and distributors, and support IFF's cheese business.

Conduct cheese trials in pilot plant to support customer, internal innovation, and R&D new products development projects.

Travel to pilot plant lab in New century – Kansas for on the job training for initial few months.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in food science, dairy science, biotechnology, or related field.

At least 5 years of experience in the cheese industry and application, with knowledge of cheese production processes, formulations, ingredients, and quality parameters.

Expertise in the use of cultures and enzymes in cheese production, and familiarity with IFF's portfolio of dairy solutions.

Strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and customer satisfaction.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, in Italian and English.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and customer-oriented mindset.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and adapt to different cultures and environments.
