This position is full time which will eventually be taking on more responsibilities outside of Accounts Payable. This position is located at our corporate office in Madison, WI.Responsibilities included but are not limited to the following:Receives, sorts, and codes invoices. Routes invoices to obtain necessary approval.Establishes and manages vendor information including obtaining a W-9 for all vendors providing a service prior to payment.Validates invoices for accuracy; ensuring correct vendor code is used investigates discrepancies, communicates with vendors and internal personnel, if necessary.Enters invoices into accounting software for payment. Ensures timely payment of all invoices to avoid late payment fees and optimize cash discounts, if applicable.Manages the weekly check run.Prepares and distributes checks to vendors and/or employees.Is responsible for the annual 1099 process, including researching any law changes and obtaining all necessary forms.General recordkeepingSuggest improvements in processes to increase effectiveness of accounts payable function and accounting team.· High School diploma· Associate in accounting - preferred· Prior experience in general office procedures helpful· Prior accounts payable, or similar, experience preferred· Ten-key experience; 8000 keystrokes minimum preferredPI237692636 Apply
