Looking for a Diesel Mechanic
Job description
Family-owned business seeking additional mechanics for established shop/dealer. Applicant should have general tools but will have access to specialty equipment. Interested Applicants should contact Cory at (608) 633-1999
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on diesel engines and vehicles
- Diagnose and troubleshoot major mechanical issues with diesel engines
- Inspect, test, and replace worn or damaged parts
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure vehicles are in compliance with safety regulations
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment to complete repairs
-Adheres to and promotes company safety policy.
- Advises the Service Manager if additional repair work is necessary.
- Maintains favorable relations with customers.
-Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
-Properly clocks on and off applicable repair orders and repair segments.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed within each job
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and their components
- Proficient in air brake systems, tire service, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and automotive diagnostics
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
- Familiarity with farm machinery is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
